Planning: Task 10: Organisation of Costumes
From this video we changed some of the outfits slightly as we felt that they either went better with the scenes or another outfit looked better.
For the brick wall scene we used the soldier leggings and crop top along with the black fur coat and Jeffery Campbell shoes. We also decided to have her hair in a bun with bold make-up as we want her to have a signature look, which would be red lip stick and long hair. However, her hair isn't down for this scene as artists change their looks throughout the video and we didn't want her to constantly have her hair down as it wouldn't reflect the genre well.
For the limo scene we still have sequins, however we haven't used the dress as we felt that it didn't look as good as this outfit of gold sequin hot pants, leopard print crop top and a black blazer, which combines all of our artists favorite styles, thus making the outfit more personal to her. It could also make her be seen a fashion icon due to the mix of bold prints. Once again the outfit follows Laura Mulvey's Male Gaze like the previous outfits to follow conventions.
For the woods scene we decided to go for a plainer look as she would be with her boyfriend so we wanted to reflect the loving and vulnerable side of her in the video while also following genre conventions and current fashion. Once again she's wearing a printed top, thus following her star image. The top is white which connotes innocence and reflects the scene well. Her hair is down and straight as her long hair is part of her signature image, but it's different to he curly hair in the video. Her make-up is also simple and natural to reflect the setting.
We've also managed to include leopard print Vans, which is a leading brand thus stressing that she keeps up to date with current fashion. Also, it relates back to her crop top in the limo scene and suggests to the consumer that she likes leopard print, therefore becoming part of her signature image.
Finally, she will also wear shorts over tights to follow genre conventions like Laura Mulvey's Male Gaze as well as indicating to the audience that she's up to date with current fashion.

Planning: Task 5: Moodboard
This is a mood board of what we would expect in our video; there are a lot of bright lights which we think reflects the genre and the artist well thus following conventions. There's also a contrast in scenes as the forest scenes will be filmed in the day and will be of the couple, while the 'clubbing' and limo scenes will be of people enjoying themselves, which is something consumers see in music videos anyway. In terms of costume and our artists looks we've decided to follow the hegemonic gender conventions as well as it's something we saw in our research. We've decided that our artist will wear a lot of red lip stick in the video as it's iconic and could be something she's known for, like Rita Ora's blonde hair and red lipstick or Rihanna's hair, thus making her stand out.
